So, January 2010 is not turning out to be one of my favorites.

Jacob has been sick off and on with severe abdominal pain.  The doctors here are stumpped and have referred us to the only pediatric gastrointerologists in the state of Oregon.  We have to wait until they call us to schedule an appointment this is sone based on urgency and availability. Currently their clinic is full.  It could take over a month for them to schedule us an appointment.  He is also on a dairy free and gluten free diet that doesn't seem to be helping.  Tylenol isn't helping.

Also, there is a nationwide shortage of pediatric GI's. 

We know one of the surgeons here and he "thinks" he can "scope" Jacob to find out what is wrong.  The problems are he is not a pediatric specialist and doesn't normally work on children.  His equipment is also not child sized.  We may go that route, IDK.

The doctors office here hasn't been returning my calls. A different doctor's nurse called me back after I left a message for them.  She scheduled an appointment for us for Jacob's doctor here so we can talk and he can be seen again and go over what he does know (ie. the results of all the tests they ran) and what he sent over to the specialist.  It appears that our doctor's nurse lied to us about when his paperwork was faxed over. 

The school system was throwing a fit because of his absences from school.  So, I've been dealing with that too. I don't want to go into detail about all that.
